Begin with the water concern

Water Filtration

Personalized water filtration in Goodyear, AZ

A taste concern, visible sediment and mineral deposits are different reasons to explore water treatment. Trident Plumbing & Drain provides water filtration services in Goodyear, including help choosing a system for a home or business. A useful recommendation connects the equipment to a defined purpose.

Talk with our Peoria office about what you have noticed and whether you want treatment at a drinking-water tap or more broadly in the property. Existing equipment, available water-test information and the intended use help shape the discussion. A treatment label alone is not enough to choose a system.

Name the concern

Are water treatment services in order?

Describe an unpleasant taste or odor, visible particles or deposits around fixtures as separate observations. Explain which taps are affected and whether the change is new. If you already have a treatment system, share its model and service history as well.

Appearance and taste do not establish which substances are present or what treatment is appropriate. Available water-quality information and testing for a specific concern can help direct the choice. The goal is to decide whether treatment addresses the issue you actually have, without assuming that every Goodyear property needs the same equipment or that local water has a particular problem.

Compare the purpose

Which type of system is right for you?

Trident offers carbon filtration, reverse osmosis and water softeners. Those categories serve different purposes. Carbon systems may address particular taste or odor concerns, while a softener targets hardness minerals, chiefly calcium and magnesium. A point-of-use reverse osmosis system supplies treated water at one fixture.

Review the claims and operating requirements of the specific model being considered. A broad word such as purification does not mean that every substance is removed. Ask how the selected system relates to your water concern and intended taps, and whether a different treatment category would be more appropriate.

Consider the whole decision

Is a new filtration system worthwhile?

Start with the result you want: a different taste at the kitchen tap, treatment for a documented concern or management of hardness deposits. A system is useful when its stated capability matches that purpose. It should not be selected on a general promise of better health or guaranteed plumbing protection.

Discuss the installation work, ongoing servicing and replacement materials together. If you currently use bottled water, consider how the proposed tap would fit your normal drinking and cooking habits. That is a practical comparison of use and upkeep, not a promise that a system will pay for itself or eliminate every household water concern.

Plan beyond installation

Installation and ongoing treatment care

Placement and access affect the installation and future service. Explain what equipment is already present and which water outlets you want served. Ask how the proposed unit connects to the plumbing and what room is needed to inspect or maintain it.

Keep the model details and operating instructions after installation. Follow the care requirements for that equipment, and ask about filter replacement or softener service rather than applying one interval to every system. If taste, flow or visible deposits change later, report the symptom and service history so the equipment can be reviewed against its intended purpose.

Read your report

Two water reports, one treatment decision

Which report applies depends on who supplies your water, and the name on your bill tells you. The City of Goodyear's 2025 report lists sodium averaging 139 mg/L (range 86 to 300) and arsenic at 5 parts per billion (range 1 to 8), against a federal limit of 10. Liberty's 2025 report for its Litchfield Park and Goodyear system lists sodium at 120 mg/L, arsenic from not detected to 9.3 and hardness of 13.6 grains per gallon.

Then decide what you want the equipment to do. For a chlorine taste, the City's own tip is to let water stand 20 minutes or chill it before you add any equipment. Hardness calls for a softener, and the City suggests setting one at 14 to 20 grains on its water. Reverse osmosis treats drinking water at a single tap, and the City notes it can use up to 5 gallons of water to make one. Before buying, check what the system is certified to reduce.

System pricing

What a softener, filter or RO system costs depends on

Treatment systems are priced by what they treat and where they go. These are the main variables.

The current Trident offer is 20% off a new water softener or filtration system. One per household. Offers can't be combined; some restrictions apply. Our salt service membership adds softener salt every 6 to 8 weeks, and the reverse osmosis plan covers annual filter changes for five years.

  • One drinking water tap or treatment for the whole house.
  • Carbon, softening, reverse osmosis or a combination of them.
  • Plumbing to add if there is no softener loop or drain nearby.
  • Ongoing upkeep: salt, filter changes and softener service.
  • Removing an older system that is no longer doing its job.

What Goodyear's 2025 water reports list

Each provider publishes its own report. These figures help frame a filtration or reverse osmosis choice.

Average sodium in City water, 2025
139 mg/L

City samples ranged from 86 to 300 mg/L, and Liberty's report lists 120 for its system. Sodium shapes how water tastes, which reverse osmosis can address at a drinking tap.

Arsenic in City water, 2025; federal limit 10
5 ppb

The City's report lists 5 parts per billion, with a range of 1 to 8, against a federal limit of 10. Liberty lists results from not detected to 9.3 against the same limit.

Water an RO unit can use for each gallon it makes
Up to 5 gal

The City notes that an RO unit can use up to 5 gallons of water for each gallon it purifies, which is worth knowing when you size and maintain one.

water filtration in Goodyear.

Questions about water filtration in Goodyear? Start here, or tell us what is happening at your home.

Ask our team
Can a water softener solve every filtration concern?

No. A softener is primarily intended for hardness minerals. A separate taste, sediment or other water concern should be assessed against the capabilities of the proposed treatment system.

Is reverse osmosis always the right choice?

No. The choice depends on the concern, the specific system and the taps you want served. Compare the proposed equipment with other treatment options and its ongoing care needs.

Should I choose a system from taste alone?

Taste is worth describing, but it does not establish what is in the water. A specific concern may need water-quality information or testing before an appropriate treatment choice can be made.

Can you maintain a water softener as well as install one?

Yes. Trident provides water softener installation and maintenance. Share the existing unit details and describe whether you need routine service, an assessment of performance or a replacement discussion.

Why does my reverse osmosis system keep hissing?

The City's high water bill guide lists a soft, continuous hiss hours after the last use as a sign of a malfunctioning RO system, one that can waste 1,000 to 5,000 gallons a month. It says the cause is often a failed check valve, and sometimes only a filter replacement is needed.

How often should a water softener be serviced?

The City suggests maintenance after 15,000 to 20,000 gallons have run through it, about every six months for an average household. A drain line that runs constantly is a warning sign: the City lists softener malfunctions at 10,000 to 100,000 gallons of water a month.
