A complete fixture change

Toilet Replacement

Toilet replacement and installation in Surprise, AZ

Perhaps the bowl is damaged, repairs have become a recurring project or the toilet no longer suits the way you use the bathroom. A replacement conversation starts with that reason. It should also account for leaks, movement or flushing problems that may involve plumbing around the old fixture.

Trident Plumbing & Drain serves Surprise from its Peoria office. We can help you choose a replacement or review one you have already selected, then explain the removal and installation work. The aim is a clear scope for your bathroom, including any connected problem found during inspection.

Make the decision

When a different toilet makes sense

Cracked or damaged fixtures, recurring problems and a planned bathroom update are reasons to discuss replacement. Running, clogging or leaking can also have repairable causes, so the symptoms alone should not decide the outcome. A condition assessment helps separate a fixture change from work on the existing toilet.

Tell us what you want to improve and which repairs have already been attempted. If the toilet performs adequately but feels uncomfortable or no longer suits the room, say so. That is a different project from replacing a damaged unit or dealing with an unresolved drain concern.

Choose for the bathroom

Review the fixture before installation

Options include standard replacements, comfort-height toilets and water-saving models. Choosing among them involves the available space, how the toilet will be used and compatibility with the existing plumbing. Share the model details before installation if you have already purchased or selected a unit.

A replacement should be discussed as a complete installation, including any changes needed around it. Ask about the fit and intended use rather than assuming every toilet will work in the same position. A model described as water-saving has its own documented performance; the name alone is not a promise about your household.

See the connection points

Removal, flange and supply checks

Removing the old toilet allows the plumber to inspect the flange, seal and connection to the drain. The shutoff valve, supply line and surrounding floor area also matter. These connection points should be considered before the new fixture is secured.

Let us know about prior leaks, rocking or damage near the base. The inspection may identify related plumbing work that needs explanation before installation continues. A new toilet does not conceal or resolve every pre-existing problem around the opening, so findings should shape the agreed scope.

Finish with understanding

Sealing, stability and everyday operation

Installation includes attention to sealing, leveling, secure placement and function. Our plumber can explain what was installed and what related work was completed. Keep the fixture information with your home records so future service starts with the correct model.

Before the work is considered complete, discuss any concern that led to replacement and whether it involved the toilet alone. If the bathroom is receiving several updates, coordinate the plumbing scope for the other fixtures as well. You should know which problems the new installation addresses and which require separate attention.

Rebates and labels

No toilet rebate, but a clear efficiency nudge

The City's current rebate program does not cover toilets. The five rebate types it is accepting are a WaterSense irrigation controller, rotary sprinkler nozzles, new-home xeriscape and two kinds of turf removal, all aimed at landscapes, where the City says up to 70% of residential water use in the Phoenix area occurs. Budget for a new toilet without a City rebate, and check the City's water conservation page from time to time in case the list of rebates changes.

The City still recommends efficient fixtures. Its 2025 water quality report suggests replacing old fixtures, toilets included, with WaterSense-labeled models, fixing leaky toilets and flushing only human waste and toilet paper. With the median Surprise home built in 2006, many original toilets are around 20 years old. We can help you choose a WaterSense model that fits the bathroom's rough-in measurement and the existing supply connection. Measure or photograph the old toilet before you shop, and we can confirm the fit before it comes out.

Replacement pricing

What goes into a toilet replacement price

A replacement quote covers the new toilet and the work around it.

  • The model you choose, or one you already bought.
  • Whether it fits the existing rough-in measurement.
  • Flange and floor condition once the old toilet is lifted.
  • Replacing the shutoff valve or supply line at the same time.
  • Hauling away the old toilet.

Choosing a toilet

Before you choose a new toilet

No City rebate applies to toilets right now, but the City's water advice still points to efficient models.

Ask our team
Can I choose the toilet before contacting Trident?

Yes. Share its model information so the fit and plumbing connections can be reviewed. We can also help discuss options if you have not selected a replacement.

Will the flange and supply connection be checked?

Trident checks the flange, seal, shutoff valve, supply line and surrounding area during replacement. Any related work should be explained as part of the installation scope.

Will a new toilet solve repeated clogs?

That depends on the cause. A connected drain problem can remain after a fixture change. Report repeated clogs so the plumbing can be assessed before replacement is treated as the solution.

Do I need replacement whenever the toilet runs or leaks?

Not necessarily. A repair may address a worn part, seal or connection. The condition of the fixture, the cause and your reason for changing it help determine the appropriate work.

Does Surprise offer a rebate for a new toilet?

Not under its current program. The City is accepting five rebate types, and all of them cover landscape upgrades such as irrigation controllers, rotary nozzles, xeriscape and turf removal. Check the City's water conservation page for changes.

What kind of toilet does the City recommend?

The City's 2025 water quality report suggests replacing old fixtures, toilets included, with WaterSense-labeled models. We can help you pick one that fits your bathroom.
