Repairs designed to last

Youngtown, AZ

Plumbing repairs and upgrades in Youngtown, AZ

Trident Plumbing & Drain is a woman-, veteran- and family-owned company providing plumbing repairs, maintenance and installations for residential and commercial properties. That includes emergency leaks, worn piping, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, drains, water heaters and water treatment.

The aim is a repair that lasts rather than a quick patch. Tell our Peoria office what changed, when it started and what has been repaired before. The plumber can then inspect the affected plumbing and explain whether repair, partial replacement or an upgrade fits the situation.

During a plumbing emergency

What to do while water is escaping

A burst pipe, an overflowing toilet or a major leak needs immediate attention. If you can do so safely, turn off the main water supply or the shutoff valve for the affected fixture to limit further flooding. Then contact Trident and describe where the water is appearing.

Mention whether the problem is continuing, which rooms are affected and whether clean water or wastewater is involved. The plumber assesses the situation, locates the cause and explains the repair needed. Closing a valve only stops the water; the damaged plumbing still needs to be checked before normal use resumes.

Pipes and repiping

When repeated leaks point to the piping

Pipes that are old, corroded or leaking frequently can lower water pressure and affect water quality. One leak may be a simple repair. A pattern of leaks in different places is a reason to look at the condition of the wider system.

Our team evaluates the piping and recommends full or partial repiping when the findings support it. Ask which sections are affected, what access the work requires and how the new piping will connect to existing fixtures and equipment.

Kitchens, bathrooms and businesses

Fixture work at home and at work

Faucet installations, garbage disposal repairs, running toilets and leaking shower valves are everyday fixture requests. When a renovation is planned, share the layout and the fixtures you are choosing so the supply and drain connections can be reviewed.

For businesses, describe the rooms or fixtures out of use and any access arrangements. Commercial work can include repiping, sewer line maintenance and fixture repairs. Routine maintenance visits can check for leaks, test water pressure and confirm that fixtures operate as they should.

Hot water and the water supply

Hot water, treatment and public water service

A water heater that leaks, runs out early or stops heating needs the equipment checked before a repair is chosen. Trident installs, maintains and repairs tankless units as well as conventional tanks. Reverse osmosis, softening and carbon filtration each address a different water concern.

The Town of Youngtown's Public Works page explains that the town does not own its water utility and lists the private provider. Use that contact for concerns about the public water supply; Trident can address leaks, pressure problems and equipment in the plumbing serving your property.

The Town's water supplier

EPCOR water from the Sun City district

The Town does not run a water system. Its Public Works page says the Town does not own its water and utilities and lists EPCOR Water as the provider, and the Town's history page notes that the Town utilities were sold. EPCOR's 2025 report for its Sun City district says it serves nearly 24,000 connections in Sun City and the Town, and the system draws on groundwater from the West Salt River Valley sub-basin. EPCOR's rate page lists the Town under its Sun City water district and its Sonoran wastewater district. The name on your bill confirms which account you have.

That report is the one to read for your tap. Its 2025 samples show hardness between 7 and 11 grains per gallon and total dissolved solids between 223 and 372 parts per million, and its 2024 sodium samples ran from 31 to 79 parts per million. Because EPCOR does not treat for hardness, the calcium and magnesium that leave white deposits on faucets reach the water heater too. A softener addresses scale, while carbon filtration or reverse osmosis addresses taste, so start with what you want to change.

Older homes

A town first built in the 1950s and 1960s

Youngtown was incorporated in 1960 and, in the Town's words, was originally designed to be a retirement community. Census estimates count about 2,780 homes, with a median build year of 1979. About 38% were built in the 1950s and 1960s and about 55% before 1990, while roughly a third went up from 2000 to 2009. A house from the first wave has had more than 55 years of use on any original pipes, drains and fixtures.

The Town's permit rule is broad. Its Homeowner's Guide to Permitting says anyone who intends to install, alter, repair or replace a plumbing system regulated by the Town's adopted codes must first obtain a permit, and Community Development lists plumbing among the inspections it performs. A homeowner who is not the home's primary occupant must have the work done by a contractor licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Trident's license number is ROC 331536.

Find hidden leaks

Use the meter and a dye tablet before you call

Older plumbing often leaks where you cannot see it, and the water meter gives the first clue. EPCOR's meter guide describes two readouts. A dial meter has a small triangle that turns whenever water passes through, so if it moves with every tap and appliance shut off, look for a leak. A digital meter shows a leak symbol instead: flashing means water moved during 50 or more of the day's 96 quarter-hour periods, and steady means water moved in every one of them.

Toilets are a common spot for a silent leak, and EPCOR's free audit kit is built for checks like that, with dye tablets for the toilet tank, a drip gauge and a meter flow bag. Its retrofit kit swaps in low-flow aerators and a low-flow showerhead. EPCOR asks for your name, address, phone number and account number with each request. If the checks point to a leak you cannot find, our team can locate it and explain the options, from a single fitting to repiping.

Ask our team
What should I do first during a plumbing emergency?

If it is safe, shut off the main water supply or the fixture's valve to stop further flooding, then contact Trident. Describe the source of the water and the areas affected.

Do you handle both residential and commercial plumbing?

Yes. Residential work includes kitchen and bathroom repairs, water heaters and slab leak detection. For businesses, Trident provides repiping, sewer line maintenance, fixture work and emergency plumbing support.

When should I consider repiping?

Frequent leaks, corrosion, discolored water or persistent low pressure are reasons to have the piping evaluated. The inspection determines whether full or partial repiping is appropriate.

Do you install tankless water heaters?

Yes. Trident installs, maintains and repairs tankless systems for homes and businesses. Discuss your hot-water use so the choice between tankless and a tank model reflects your needs.

Who provides water and sewer service in Youngtown?

EPCOR. The Town's FAQ says to contact EPCOR Water to establish new water and wastewater service, and EPCOR's rate page lists the Town under its Sun City water district and Sonoran wastewater district.

What is the hardness of the Town's water?

EPCOR's 2025 report for the Sun City district, which serves the Town, shows 7 to 11 grains per gallon. EPCOR does not soften the supply, and its report explains that the white residue water leaves behind as it evaporates is usually calcium carbonate.

Does the Town require a permit to replace plumbing?

As a general rule, yes. The Town's Homeowner's Guide to Permitting says anyone who intends to install, alter, repair or replace a plumbing system regulated by the Town's adopted codes must first obtain a permit. If you are unsure whether your project needs one, the guide says to call the Town.

What does a flashing symbol on my EPCOR meter mean?

EPCOR's guide says a flashing leak symbol signals an intermittent leak: water has run in at least 50 of the 96 quarter-hour periods over 24 hours. A symbol that stays lit means water ran in all 96. If you see either with nothing running, a hidden leak is worth tracking down.

What comes in EPCOR's free conservation kits?

There are two. The audit kit has toilet dye tablets, a drip gauge and a meter flow bag, and the retrofit kit has low-flow bathroom and kitchen aerators, a low-flow showerhead and a low-flow outdoor hose nozzle. Request either by email or phone.
