Full-service plumbing

Paradise Valley, AZ

Dependable, professional plumbing service in Paradise Valley

Trident Plumbing & Drain is a woman-, veteran- and family-owned company providing residential and commercial plumbing. We pay attention to the details of each property, from minor leaks to larger projects such as repiping or a bathroom remodel, and explain the options before work begins.

The services below are grouped by the kind of work involved: repairs, drains and pipes; kitchens, bathrooms and fixtures; and the equipment that heats and treats your water. If you are not sure which applies, describe the problem and we can help sort it out.

Drain options

When a drain needs more than a clearing

A drain that clogs once may only need standard cleaning. When the same line keeps slowing, grease, roots or other buildup is often coating the pipe further in. Hydro jetting scours that buildup off the pipe interior with high-pressure water, which chemical cleaners and basic snaking do not reach in the same way.

Whether jetting suits the line depends on its condition, so the plumber checks the pipe first. If the problem sits in the sewer line, sewer services can identify, clean and repair it. Share how often the drain has been cleared before.

Pipe condition

Signs your pipes may need replacing

Frequent leaks, discolored water and pressure that rises and falls without explanation can all signal aging or corroded pipes. One repair does not mean the whole system is failing, but a pattern of problems is worth an inspection.

Trident inspects the piping and gives an honest recommendation on whether spot repairs, partial repiping or full repiping fits the condition found. Repiping is also worth discussing during a renovation, when walls and fixtures are already being opened.

Water treatment

Choosing a filtration or softening system

Every household uses water differently, so the system should match the concern. Reverse osmosis delivers filtered water at a single tap for drinking and cooking. A whole-home water softener addresses mineral buildup on fixtures and in appliances. Activated carbon filtration targets chlorine, odors and taste.

Describe what you want to change, such as spotting on fixtures or the taste of drinking water, and how much water the household uses. Trident can explain which option, or combination, fits those goals and what upkeep each one involves.

Projects and commercial work

Remodels, kitchens and commercial properties

Larger projects need plumbing planned with the rest of the work. Bathroom remodels, fixture replacements and new kitchen sinks all involve supply and drain connections that should be reviewed before installation. Bring the fixture choices and layout to the conversation.

Trident also provides scalable plumbing service for businesses, from a small office to a larger commercial facility. Routine maintenance helps catch issues early in either setting, and financing can be discussed for larger projects.

Four water suppliers

Which water company serves your address?

Water service here comes from four providers, according to the Town's utility pages: Berneil Water Company, the City of Phoenix, the City of Scottsdale and EPCOR. Which one serves a home depends on where it sits, and the Town publishes a boundary map. The quickest check is the name on your water bill. The Town also lists each provider's general and 24-hour emergency numbers, a useful list to keep for a leak at the meter or in the street.

The water itself differs by supplier. EPCOR's 2025 report for its Paradise Valley district describes local groundwater plus an interconnect with Phoenix's 24th Street treatment plant, and lists hardness at about 12 grains per gallon from a 2022 sample. Phoenix's 2025 report shows 10 to 17.6 grains across its system and Scottsdale's 2026 report lists roughly 13 to 17, depending on the area. Berneil Water Company customers can ask the company for its figures. Set a softener or a flushing schedule from your own supplier's numbers, not a neighbor's.

Sewer or septic

Sewer, septic and who answers the call

Wastewater is split as well. The Town's utility page says the City of Phoenix owns and maintains the sewer in parts of the southwest and northwest of town. The remaining areas are served by a system the Town owns and the City of Scottsdale operates and maintains under an intergovernmental agreement. Many properties are not on sewer at all but on septic systems, and for those the Town lists a Maricopa County contact.

That split matters when a drain backs up. For a home on sewer, the Town lists separate numbers for reporting obstructions to Phoenix and to the Scottsdale-run Town system. For a home on septic, the tank and drain field are a different job from a sewer line, with a different set of fixes. When you call us, say which one you have. If you are not sure, the Town's sewer provider map and your utility bills are the place to start.

Older homes, Town permits

Pre-1990 houses and the Town's plumbing permit

The median home here was built in 1985, by Census estimates, and 57% of the roughly 6,000 homes went up before 1990. About 1,400 are older than 1970. Owners live in 95% of the occupied homes, so a leak or a failing drain line often turns into a longer-term question: fix the one problem, or plan a larger update such as repiping while the walls are open.

The Town's Plumbing Permit application is the route for work such as repairing or replacing gas lines, setting up new sewer service, installing a water heater or re-piping a whole house. Applications are filed online through the Town's Citizen Portal with a site plan and plumbing isometrics and calculations, and the Town's building page says approved plans and the permit must stay on site. Trident holds Arizona license ROC 331536 and walks you through the scope before any work starts.

Ask our team
Do you handle both residential and commercial plumbing in Paradise Valley?

Yes. Trident serves homes, offices and commercial facilities, from small repairs to larger installations, and plans the work around the property's needs.

What makes hydro jetting different from traditional drain cleaning?

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to clean buildup from the inside of the pipe rather than only opening a path through a clog. The plumber checks the line first to confirm it suits the method.

How do I know if my home needs repiping?

Frequent leaks, discolored water or fluctuating pressure can signal aging or corroded pipes. An inspection shows whether repairs, partial repiping or full repiping fits.

Can you help me choose a water filtration system?

Yes. Tell us what you want to improve and how the household uses water. Reverse osmosis, carbon filtration and water softeners each address different concerns.

Who supplies water in Paradise Valley?

One of four providers, depending on your address: Berneil Water Company, the City of Phoenix, the City of Scottsdale or EPCOR. The Town publishes a boundary map, and your water bill shows the provider's name.

Is my home on sewer or septic?

Check your bills and the Town's sewer provider map. The Town says many properties use septic systems. Sewered homes are served either by the City of Phoenix or by the Town's own system, which the City of Scottsdale operates.

What goes with a Town plumbing permit application?

The Town's permit page lists a site plan and plumbing isometrics and calculations as the required uploads, and every application is submitted electronically through the Citizen Portal. Other documents can be requested depending on the scope. Questions go to the Town's general permitting line at 480-348-3692.

How hard is my water?

It depends on the supplier. EPCOR's local district lists about 12 grains per gallon from a 2022 sample, Phoenix's 2025 report 10 to 17.6 and Scottsdale's 2026 report roughly 13 to 17. Berneil Water Company customers can ask the company for its figures. Phoenix ties hard water to scale in pipes and water heaters, so start from your own supplier's latest numbers.

Where can I get a toilet leak test kit?

The Town lists free water conservation materials for residents at Town Hall, including a City of Phoenix toilet leak test kit with colored tablets. If the test shows a leak, a worn flapper or fill valve is the usual cause and a quick repair.
